Operations Development

European Space Agency (ESA)
Project Overview
From data analytics, research science to programming - this position in the Operations Development Division oversaw my development in a number of key areas in analysing the Cassini spacecraft data for publication later this year.

Enceladus is a natural icy moon of Saturn, which was regularly visited during flybys by the Cassini spacecraft. With potential in the search for habitability in our solar system, it is the target of interest in this study.

The data analysed was from the Cassini VIMS (Visual and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer) instrument and contained over 17 million data points.
My Contributions
Developed and optimised Python data processing pipelines using PyData packages including Pandas, SciPy and NumPy.

Analysing an extensive remote sensing database with SQL, querying and filtering the data.

Analysis framework built through reformatting and manipulation of the database in an efficient, test-driven approach.

Targeted statistical analysis applied to mission requirements from stakeholders.
